What do we want to be in boiling water?

A mother teaches her children the meaningful lessons of Life from the little – little things around her. She wants to see her kids to become strong and face the situation with courage and enthusiasm.

Let’s learn a lesson through a story.

A Mother puts 3 pots full of water on high heat for 20 minutes.

There are carrots in 1 pot, some eggs in another and powdered coffee seeds in the third vessel.

All three things react differently in boiling water.

Strong carrots softened and weakened.

The delicate egg hardened.

But coffee changed the whole water.

The mother asks her child – what do you want to be? If you will be in a situation like this, where boiling (the situation ) water is going to affect you.

Mother then says – We all face similar difficulties, but some people take the coffee route and change the circumstances around them.

This story reminded me of some beautiful and inspirational sayings.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. (Martin Luther King, Jr.)

Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the best public speakers there has ever been in English. This quote means that we can learn more about a person by how he or she behaves in difficult situations than comfortable ones. A useful reminder to stick with what we believe in, even if times are tough.

Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. (Christopher Robin to Pooh – A.A.Milne)

Sometimes we just need someone to tell us that we already have the courage and ability we need to get through a difficult situation. This quote from a famous children’s book is a useful reminder of that.

Next time you are in a difficult situation, remember these quotes and use them to help overcome your challenges.
