The value of Trust
There lived a farmer in a village. One day he brought a baby mongoose and told his wife that he was going to keep it as a pet. He had a small son whom he loved very much.
The mongoose and the baby started growing together. The wife of the farmer was always fearful that the mongoose might harm the child.
One day when she returned from the fields, she found the mongoose on the doorstep, and its mouth was covered with blood. She thought that it had killed her son.
So, she immediately killed it with a stick. When she went inside, she found her baby sleeping safely and a dead snake was lying near the baby. In a flash, she understood that the mongoose had killed the snake to save her son. She cried bitterly but to no avail.
Moral: Never make a hasty judgement.
